Barbara attended Bower Ashton Court Collage in Bristol studying textile design. She transferred to Somerset Collage of Art to study illustration. Gained a Regional Diploma and Society of Industrial Artists.
She then moved to London to put her hard won qualifications to work as a freelance illustrator with Anglo Continental Artists, working on such publications as Woman, Woman’s Realm and Good Housekeeping. Barbara then moved to Cheltenham, working with local advertising agencies on campaigns for local businesses small and large most notable would be Clark Shoes during their heyday.
Barbara has worked in most media but now specialises in Pastel and as can be seen by the very small representation of her work here, she is a particularly fine artist who clearly has an intimate rapport with this media. She has given up the soulless employment with advertising agencies and for the last 14 years as well as doing personal commissions and selling pieces into fine houses all over the country she has lectured on art at various Collages and gives personal private tuition.
